This was the junction between the original course of the Cornwall Railway and the 1908 deviation, which ran further north, between Wearde and St Germans (Saltash to St Germans Deviation (Great Western Railway)). After opening of the deviation the east end of the original line was used to dismantle the timber viaducts and afterwards remained as a siding with a loop between the junction and the east end of the Forder Lake Viaduct, this was used as carriage sidings for Saltash.
