View south from the docks in September 2006 with the site of South Leith station off to the left on the far side of the wall beyond Tower Street. Ironically the area may well see rails again, being one of the sites shortlisted by Edinburgh Council for the new Edinburgh tram depot.

There was a goods station at the site of South Leith passenger terminus on Constitution Street, a separate one only slightly further east at Bath Road, and a former CR one just off the same street.  As to which was called Leith South and which South Leith (or something else) at any given time is hard to fathom.  Anyway, I^m standing on the former trackbed with my back to Constitution Street looking east across Bath Road in April 1995.  I think the branch then terminated across the road.  This path was later heavily fenced off from Bath Road (why?) and is now completely overgrown.
