A track worker acknowledges the hootings of an incoming Ayrshire service passing Cardonald Junction on 16 June with the branch to Deanside Transit running off to the right. Location: Cardonald Junction Company: Glasgow and Paisley Joint Railway 16/06/2010 David Panton
A class 26 with two polybulk wagons runs west at Cardonald in 1987. The railway had four tracks here but was reduced to two in preparation for electrification in the 1960s. A third track is still planned despite cancellation of the Glasgow Airport Rail Link. The overheads have been replaced in preparation for the third track - perhaps this bridge is not wide enough to take two tracks and catenary.
