Firefighters contain blaze at Leyland business park [BBC News]

Fire crews have been tackling a severe blaze at a business park in Lancashire. The fire, which has destroyed five buildings, started at about 17:00 GMT at the Lancashire Enterprise Business Park in Leyland. Up to 150 firefighters were sent to the scene, with several main roads closed in the area and rail travel disrupted. The West Coast Main Line was closed due to the proximity of a gas main and a number of exploding beer barrels. [From John McIntyre & Mark Bartlett]

Looking south along the WCML towards Leyland from Fowler Lane bridge, a Liverpool bound Super Sprinter snakes its way from the Up Fast, across the Down Fast to the Up Slow.
