GRAND ISLAND, Neb. Sometimes, Steve Snook finds them camping out in the rail yard near downtown. These rail fans, they're serious. Whatever it is they want to see the point where the BNSF Railway trains fly over a bridge as Union Pacific trains pass underneath, the special silver rail cars used by the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, a train carrying the fuselage of a Boeing 737 they're willing to wait. They'll sit for hours, sleep in their cars overnight, spend days doing nothing but cruising up and down the highway, looking for a flash of yellow as a U.P. locomotive passes by. With Union Pacific holding celebrations around the country for its 150th anniversary, it's a big year for people who love trains. But most rail enthusiasts don't need a special event to get excited about their hobby.
