Norton Bridge freight train hit by fire

More than 20 firefighters have tackled a blaze on a freight train in Staffordshire. It broke out on wagons carrying tracks and other railway equipment at Norton Bridge, near Stafford, at about 20:30 BST on Thursday.

25158 runs south through Norton Bridge with a short freight from the Stoke line in 1980. This view was taken from the north end of the platform at a station that was only officially closed in 2017 but hadn^t seen a train call for many years before that. The Class 25 had a further three years service left before being withdrawn from Crewe Diesel Depot in 1983. It was cut up at Vic Berry^s in Leicester in 1987.
