A bid for £10 million of lottery cash has been submitted to help fund the construction of a new railway museum in Leicester. The Great Central Railway (GCR) wants to develop the new attraction at its Leicester North station at Birstall. The ambitious scheme was unveiled in December and has taken a significant step forward with the completion of the bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund.
