Tram/train link 'will be better value than Garl' [Evening Times]

Date: 06/03/2014

A TRAM/TRAIN link from Glasgow Airport would provide better value for money than the cancelled Glasgow Airport Rail Link would have, according to the Transport Minister. Keith Brown said the possibility of a new scheme would be investigated but did not say such a link would definitely happen. He was asked in the Scottish Parliament by Lab-our transport spokesman, Mark Griffin if the link would involve any land being purchased as land previously bought for the original Garl project has now been sold.

Looking out along platforms 12 and 13 at Glasgow Central on 9 September 2007. The short platform 11a can be seen in the centre background. There are plans to realign this platform and extend it back into the station through the arch on the left to accomodate future Glasgow Airport Rail Link services. Work on the project is due to commence in 2009.
