Dutch rail is to begin modernising some 400 double-decker trains, creating a more informal lower level with lounge seating and an upper level for people who wish to work. The revamped trains will also be more energy efficient, have wireless internet and toilet facilities accessible for wheelchair users. The current generation of double-decker trains dates from the 1990s. The first new-look trains will be in service in 2016, NS said in a statement.
