Ron Mack stepped up from a Colton rail yard Monday morning, April 28, and on board a piece of history. The 11-car train was pulling a 73-year-old steam locomotive, Engine 4014, also known as the Big Boy, on the first leg of a 1,293-mile journey to Cheyenne, Wyoming where it is to be restored to working order and turned into a rolling exhibit for the Union Pacific Railroad.
