Campaign to reopen Weymouth seafront train line [BBC News]

A former Dorset seaside train line worker has launched a campaign to return the service through Weymouth in a bid to boost tourism. The seafront line opened in 1865 to provide a link from the railway station to the quay and Channel Island ferries. The last regular service ran in 1987 but the line was used for special occasions until 1999. [From Richard Buckby]
