Worcester Parkway given the green light [Worcester News]

A major new railway station in Worcester has been given the green light by the Department of Transport.
The approval from the Department for Transport enables Worcestershire County Council formally to award a contract for the construction of the station in the south-east of the city.
Preparation of the site in Norton and final design works will get underway this winter with construction work to follow.
Worcestershire Parkway is expected to make it easier for more passengers to use the county's North Cotswold rail link from Worcester to Oxford and London Paddington.
