British Steel rises to corrosion challenge with ultra-long rail [IRJ]

Date: 27/04/2017

British Steel says it has become the first manufacturer to produce and deliver ultra-long corrosion protected rail with the completion of a renewal project in Scotland.

It comes in response to a Network Rail request to provide longer lengths of rail to speed up installation and reduce disruption to passenger and freight operators.

The first installation of five 216m sections of Zinoco rail has been completed in Inverkeithing Tunnel, near Edinburgh.
