Date: 28/05/2018

Its full steam ahead for the north-easts newest railway station after no objections were raised against the plans. Network Rail wants to build two new platforms at Kintore the first new station in the region since 2009. The transport body submitted plans to Aberdeenshire Council in April and has just received the verdict of the statutory consultees. Bodies such as SEPA, Transport Scotland and Aberdeenshire Councils specialist teams are able to advise the local authority whether an application should be refused or granted. If approved, the station would be built beside the B987 and Northern Road in the town.
