Scottish Borders Council has granted Planning Permission in Principle (PPiP) for a mixed-use redevelopment of a historic auction mart to create a ^new town centre^ for Newtown St Boswells.
Working with H&H Group Plc and Cadell Properties, Michael Laird Architects expansion masterplan proposes a mix of retail, leisure and 150 homes as well as an overhaul of the mart itself whilst a new route into the mart removes livestock transport from the historic village centre.
The masterplan is also flexible to allow for the possible extension of the Borders Railway.
