Rutherglen commuters face two months of rail disruption as line set to close [Daily Record]

There will be no trains via Rutherglen until May 8. Rutherglen locals are facing up to two months of rail disruption with their train line into Glasgow being shut down for improvement works.

The Argyle line is to close from Rutherglen though to Exhibition Centre starting on March 13 and running through until May 8.

A Whifflet service calls at Rutherglen on 19 May. I've never quite got used to the M74 appearing above the station some years ago, but it has to be said there is surprisingly little traffic noise.

Glasgow's Argyle line will close for eight weeks from mid-March while Network Rail delivers a £32m programme of work to improve reliability for passengers. Customers are being urged to plan ahead as the line will be closed between Rutherglen and Exhibition Centre from March 13 to May 8.
