Looking at the buffer stops on the Merseyrail side of Glovers Brow road bridge, Kirkby as a Northern service to Manchester departs from the platform on the other side. The walkway between the two platforms juts out into the formation and, following the incident on 13 March 2021 when 507006 crashed through the buffers, has been completely rebuilt and the buffer stop replaced
