London North Eastern Railway (LNER) has launched a special commemorative video to mark the centenary of the iconic East Coast route operator. On 1st January 2023, LNER will celebrate 100 years since the grouping following the Railway Act of 1921. New Years Day will mark the start of a year full of celebrations for LNER who will spend the year recognising the achievements of the past as well as the potential for the future. [London North Eastern Railway has been the franchise holder for Intercity East Coast since 2018. The London and North Eastern Railway company existed between 1923 and 1948.
