Prestonpans: New murals bring life to railway station [East Lothian Courier]

A collection of four murals have appeared at Prestonpans train station depicting old railway scenes. The murals were funded and sponsored CrossCountry rail operators and East Lothian Community Rail Partnership with support from ScotRail.

New murals, installed at Prestonpans in February 2023, grace the platform side of the station building. They illustrate the Prestongrange Mining Museum, a Wiles bus, Mallard and the 1722 Waggonway. The murals were produced by artists Tom Ewing and Lesley Innes working with pupils and staff from Preston Lodge School in Prestonpans and are due to be officially inaugurated in April.
