ScotRail is to run trains more frequently on Saturdays than weekdays on its main Edinburgh-Glasgow route following a dramatic change in passenger travel triggered by Covid, The Scotsman has learned. Engineering work will also be moved from its traditional weekend slot to Sunday and Monday as a trial on another ScotRail line to avoid disrupting travellers on Saturdays, which are now its busiest day.
