Anger after Eastriggs station rejection blow [DNG Online]

Long held plans for the re-opening of Eastriggs railway station have been dismissed by Transport Scotland - with the decision described as a 'huge blow' for Annandale. It comes after the government agency wrote to the South of West of Scotland Transport Partnership (SWESTRANS) saying the economic cases simply 'do not stack up' for re-opening.

An old timetable from 1916 showing a 26 minute spell during which 7 additional workmens trains arrived at Dornock station in connection with the munitions factory. Dornock was renamed Eastriggs in 1923 and finally closed in 1965.
