We had just missed the chance of a hot meal, as the Puffing Billy's kitchen closes at 3pm; we returned to the car park to find our car had its second puncture in 4 days. There's something to be said for steel wheels and tyres.

Ivatt 2-6-2T no 41314 stands at Torrington, Devon, in August 1960. The milk tank loading facilities can be seen on the right. Torrington lost its scheduled passenger service in 1965 and the last milk tanks left in October 1978.
