Barrhead's new £18m railway station supported by city region cabinet [STV]

Plans for another station in Barrhead have moved forward. It is hoped a Barrhead South Rail Station, off Balgraystone Road, will support the regeneration of the town and house building in the area. [Curiously the STV article is illustrated with a view of Glenfinnan taken at track level. -RS]

A 318 passes the site of Lyoncross Junction. The lines still pass round the never built island platform. Unfortunately tree growth makes the formation impossible to see at this time of year - but note the odd out of alignment of the catenary.
