Final phase of railway enhancement work begins at Dunblane station [Network Rail]

Date: 28/08/2023

Network Rail is carrying out the final phase of enhancement works at Dunblane station to help improve service reliability on Scotland's Railway. Once the new crossover comes into use next year, it will mean trains can depart from Platform 3 using this section of track when heading south from the station. This will help reduce the time it takes for a train to turn back towards Stirling by up to 13 minutes. In turn, this will free up capacity through the route and make services more reliable.

A service from Edinburgh has just arrived at Dunblane Platform 3 on 5 September 2018. It would be convenient if it could return from the same platform, but there's no crossover to the Up line so trains have to advance then reverse onto Platform 1.
