The privately owned former station at Velvet Hall, Northumberland, in the summer of 2005. The station had lost its passenger service in 1955, with the Kelso - Tweedmouth section closing completely 10 years later. The station opened in 1849 to serve the village of Horncliffe, the most northerly village in England, standing three quarters of a mile beyond on the south bank of the River Tweed.
