Network Rail has submitted an application for listed building consent for a new bridge to make Pitlochry station fully accessible for passengers. The proposal for a footbridge with lifts within the station will improve accessibility for all passengers, particularly those with reduced mobility and those travelling with luggage, prams or bikes. Perth and Kinross Council will now consider the listed building consent application, which, if approved, will grant permission for a new bridge with lifts to enable step-free access between both platforms of the station. It would also see the removal of the existing lattice iron footbridge.
