Galashiels: Station Brae bridge removal

The Station Brae bridge over the station site in Galashiels is to be removed. The first bridge and overall roof were removed many years ago and the present bridge is the second. But what effect will this have on the possible railway re-opening?

A Tweedbank service pulls out of Gala on 9th October 2019. I got the same set on the way back and heard a passenger lamenting to her companion that the train didn^t stop at Heriot. It wasn^t clear whether she thought this straggling hamlet had a station.

Customers can only leave or board the train at either Galashiels or Tweedbank to board the connecting Borders Bus service.
