A North East station closed following the Beeching cuts in the 1960s is to re-open, Deputy First Minister Nicol Stephen announced today (Monday). The community of Laurencekirk, Aberdeenshire, will soon be able to let the train take the strain as a result of the project, worth over £3 million.
