Plans to double the size of Glasgow's Buchanan Galleries shopping centre have taken a step forward after developers applied for outline planning consent.

RAILSCOT Note: note that the plans appear to include more building over the railway approach to Queen Street station. Variations of the plan also involve the Queen Street entrance and parking area.

The forlorn looking Consort House (at the southwest corner of Glasgow Queen Street station site) which has now been internally stripped and has had most of its windows removed. The scaffolding will be extended to enable floor by floor demolition.
