The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland (RCAHMS), as part of their centenary celebratory project Treasured Places, are running a series of free workshops and lectures.
The lecture; Memories of the Waverley Line was delivered by RCAHMS specialist David Easton., The workshop, run by O-Street graphic designers in conjunction with RCAHMS specialists, will explore the Waverley route in much more detail and examine the impact that such schemes have had on local communities in the past, whilst looking towards the future. The group will work with the designers on activities that will culminate in producing a fold-out leaflet that will act as an illustrated historical guide to the line, reflecting participants individual experiences, knowledge and memories of the area.
We hope to stock the free leaflet in libraries, tourist information centres and local heritage centres. This free workshop will run over four evenings on the 11th, 12th, 18th and 19th March at Galashiels Academy from 6.30pm- 8.30pm.
