A GOVERNMENT minister has given hope to campaigners pushing for the re-opening of Longannet Colliery. The possible rebirth of Scotland’s deep coal mining industry at Longannet has been discussed at a “very positive” meeting between energy minister Jim Mather and Fife councillors.
