'Harry Potter' thief is jailed [Lancaster Guardian]

A Lancaster man has been jailed for a year after carrying out thefts at the home of Harry Potter's Hogwarts Express.
Neal Currie, together with three accomplices from Lancashire and Manchester, targeted the Steamtown depot, near Carnforth, where the locomotive used in the Harry Potter films is housed.

Despite a temperature of -3C, the driver of 37706 had his side window open as he departed Carnforth on a return test run to Hellifield, with 47772, on 12th December 2022. The single yellow will allow the two to clear the station onto the curve but they will be held at the next signal until the preceding Leeds passenger train clears Settle Junction.
