Massive dock transformation plan launched [Inverclyde Now]

A 10-YEAR, £180million plan to redevelop James Watt Dock in Greenock has been launched. PART of the railway embankment can be removed, councillors have agreed. Removal of bridge over A8 also likely.

Looking North to the viaduct in the James Watt Dock. This runs off the bridge crossing the Port Glasgow Road (see image 15506, 21461 and 15533). This took the line from the Ladyburn sidings, in amongst the trees to the bottom left, into the James Watt Dock's sidings and United Molasses terminal.
