Scene in the yard at Galashiels in March 1969. This particular trip over the Waverley route (by then freight-only) had attached a number of brake vans carrying members of Edinburgh University Railway Society, whose plate is displayed on the front of the locomotive.

The signal box at Hardengreen Junction, looking north along the Waverley line towards Eskbank in December 1968. To the left is the trackbed of the Peebles loop. Minimal locomotive servicing facilities and a turntable were also located here with the location classified as a sub shed of 64A St Margarets. Eskbank station is on the other side of the bridge in the background. [See image 45679]
