When current plans come to fruition Fleetwood will be served by new articulated light rail vehicles on all regular services. Blackpool's historic trams, such as restored 717 seen here entering Lord Street, will usually be confined to the central part of the system in Blackpool itself. The former Woolworths store, now empty, fronts onto the street at this point. Location: Fleetwood [Tram] Company: Blackpool Tramroad and Blackpool and Fleetwood Tramroad 06/10/2009 Mark Bartlett
Blackpool Balloon Car No. 719 runs down Pharos Street (I wonder where that name came from) in Fleetwood at the start of its run to Blackpool. This is part of the turning circle at Fleetwood Ferry and the tram is about to join the double track section along Fleetwood's main street. Stop that tram! A Lancashire Constabulary patrol, leaving the nearby police station, overtakes Blackpool No. 707 outside Fleetwood's North Euston hotel. The hotel name betrays its LNWR origins and the building overlooks the ferry and tram terminals, close to the site of the long demolished railway station. This location, previously just for setting down, has become the Fleetwood Ferry raised tram stop for the new flexity tram services.
