NB: It was announced on 28th September that Bond Street station will actually open on 24th October so that's another date for my photography diary! 2/14

23/09/2022
David Bosher

Bond Street [EL]

Elizabeth Line

The new lengthy pedestrian subway linking the Oxford Street entrance to the new Elizabeth Line platforms at Bond Street that opened on this day, Monday, 24th October 2022. Elizabeth Line trains also began running through from Abbey Wood to Reading on this day too while in the east, trains from Shenfield began running through as far as Paddington only via the new connection at Whitechapel although a few Shenield trains continue to serve Liverpool Street main. 7/14

06/11/2022
David Bosher

Heathrow Terminal 4 [BAA]

Heathrow Railway (British Airports Authority)

345008 at Heathrow Terminal 4 waiting to depart with the 12.35 Elizabeth Line service to Abbey Wood on Sunday, 6th November 2022, the first day of through trains. But oh! those wretchedly hard seats. 8/14

06/11/2022
David Bosher

Abbey Wood [EL]

Elizabeth Line

345008, just arrived at Abbey Wood at 13.40 with the ex-12.35 service from Heathrow Terminal 4, waiting to depart as the 13.54 service to Maidenhead on Sunday, 6th November 2022, the first day of Elizabeth Line through services. On the left is 345 029 with the 13.47 service to Heathrow Terminal 5. Changing here for the Jubilee Line involves an up escalator, out into the street, a trek through the entire length of the Canada Place shopping mall and then back down another escalator. Nor on the Elizabeth Line platforms were there any directions to the DLR that I could see. 11/14

12/11/2022
David Bosher

Forest Gate

London to Colchester (Eastern Counties Railway)

345 unit with Elizabeth Line service from Shenfield to Paddington arriving at Forest Gate, east London, on the afternoon of Tuesday, 15th November 2022. EL trains began through running from Shenfield to Paddington on Sunday, 6th November 2022, using the new underground section between Stratford and Whitechapel, giving the former Shenfield local service an extra station between Stratford and Liverpool Street. It is expected that trains from Shenfield will run beyond Paddington to Heathrow and Reading sometime in 2023. 12/14

15/11/2022
David Bosher

Hayes and Harlington

Great Western Railway

345016, on short working to Maidenhead, arriving at Hayes & Harlington at dusk on 1st January 2023. Many Elizabeth Line trains seem to terminate at Maidenhead rather than Reading. Brunel's line here was opened by the GWR from Paddington (replaced by the present station in 1854) to Slough on 4th June 1838 but references to when this station opened are rather vague, some say 1864, others 1868 but all agree it was originally simply Hayes. I have not been able to ascertain when it became Hayes & Harlington. This station is the junction for the branch to Heathrow. 13/14

01/01/2023
David Bosher

Ilford

London to Colchester (Eastern Counties Railway)

345059, Elizabeth Line from Paddington to Shenfield, departing from Ilford on 4th April 2023. A brand new entrance on Cranbrook Road bridge at the east end of the station was opened in 2022. 14/14

04/04/2023
David Bosher
