Here are my pictures of the building of the Nuneaton North Chord, designed to redirect freight trains from Felixstowe to the North of England away from the North London line. The Chord turns off the Leicester-Birmingham line on the West side of the WCML, then runs alongside the main line for about a mile before merging into it. So far (April 2013), the line is only carrying some 8 trains a week; more will come after further works in East Anglia. I will add pictures of trains on the chord and close by whenever I can capture them.
