Introduction

This curve allowed direct access from the Edinburgh and Bathgate Railway to the Torbanehill and Bathgate Branch (Monkland Railways). Prior to this access to the Monkland Railways line was from Polkemmet Junction, approached from the west. Following opening approach was possible from the east. Opened 1897 and closed, with the line to Bathgate Lower in 1973.
