A wet Friday afternoon in July 1969 at London Road Junction, Carlisle, where the N&C and S&C lines leave the city. An eastbound freight arriving from Bog Junction on the goods lines is about to join the main line, with the signal beyond the road bridge indicating a route set for the N&C at Petteril Bidge Junction. The spur from Upperby can also be seen coming in from the right between the signal box and the bridge. The siding running off to the left once served the yard of crane makers Cowans, Sheldon & Co.
