Guide Bridge
The holding sidings to the east of Guide Bridge station housed electric locomotives for use on trans-pennine freight via Woodhead. A Manchester bound DC electric service passes the sidings early in 1981 on the approach to Guide Bridge station. The Woodhead route was closed later that year.
