Shortly after leaving Peebles station for Galashiels, the Peebles Railway ran in a cutting, spanned by a footbridge, through what is now part of the grounds of the Peebles Hydro Hotel. Following closure of the line the cutting was filled in, but most of the footbridge remains. Part of the imposing frontage of the hotel can be seen through the trees in the left background in this view looking north over the old bridge on 18 May 2008.
