Anyone in 1970 fancying a summer daytrip to North Berwick during the week, or anyone from there wanting to go Christmas shopping in
Edinburgh, would have had to have been pretty determined if they chose to travel by rail. No weekday trains at all between breakfast and teatime. Presumably the station was locked up for most of the day. One would think BR were trying to make the branch as uneconomic as possible as a reason for closing it.
