The Hawick station pilot assists a type 2 with the paper train as it restarts from Hawick one afternoon in 1968. This train, so called locally because it brought the evening newspapers down to Hawick from Edinburgh, will be piloted south as far as Riccarton Junction, following which the Clayton will return light engine.
