View south on the Waverley Route at the site of Stobs Camp Siding which was actually a large yard extending to the access road to Acreknowe farm. From there a tramway crossed the road, and abrubtly dog-legged before eventually reaching Stobs military camp. A spur served the camp bakery and the line ended near one of three YMCA Institute buildings, on the west flank of the camp, roughly level with Winningtonrigg. To the left in this picture can be seen the railway cottages just north of Barnes viaduct. Where the route begins to turn was the location of the large signalbox here. Behind the camera a long headshunt on the up side extended to Colislinn cutting.
