Because closed railway lines and trackbeds in France enjoy good legal protection against lifting and redevelopment it is quite common to see closed stations and disused tracks slumbering in the sun. Mauron, formerly on the cross country line to Ploermel, continued as a freight terminus after closure to passengers but is currently disused. The trackbed beyond the red barriers was being turned into a cycle track when I visited but, as can be seen, the station building has made a very nice house and has fared much better than another closed station at Cozes See image 24390
