Scale Hall was a modern but short lived station on the electrified Lancaster Green Ayre to Morecambe direct route, opening as late as 1957 but closing with the line in 1966. It was constructed of prefabricated concrete sections but most traces have been swept away. This view of Carlisle Bridge at Lancaster was taken just to the east end of the old station site from the cycle way that runs along the old line. 144002 is heading for Morecambe and Heysham Port crossing an incoming tide on the Lune Estuary.
