Looking south over the remains of former mainline station at Calvert. Beyond the island platform is the Shanks and McEwan rubbish unloading depot. The depot serves the nearby landfill site which was formerly a clay pit of the London Brick Company. This portion of the former Great Central Railway's London Extension continues north as far as Claydon Junction and remains intact south to Quainton Road although the out of use Princes Risborough route only reaches Akeman Street.
