I don't visit here very often, but when I do the fine 1899 station
building seems to alternate between disuse and use in a new guise. It's back to disuse here on 28 October 2009. The sign boasting a frequent service to Motherwell surely dates from pre-Larkhall branch reopening days when Coatbridge Central was a terminus for electrics as well as the (continuing) hourly Cumbernauld to Motherwell service.
