Farington Curve Junction

Me next. As 153378 leaves the Ormskirk line at Farington Curve Junction, a Class 158 Sprinter on a service from York waits on the curve for its turn to join the main line to run into Preston on 27th November 2009. Although the line to Midge Hall crossing had been singled some twenty six years earlier, the Up Line trackbed still had the appearance of the tracks only recently being lifted at this time. The single unit Class 153s were the mainstay of duties on the Ormskirk line for many years, operating a basic ninety minute interval service.
