Lancaster Power Station

0-6-0F Lancaster shunting 16 ton mineral wagons at Lancaster Power Station. Behind the wall is the Lancaster to Wennington line, cut back to this point by that time, and behind that Rennie's aqueduct carrying the Lancaster Canal over the River Lune. The aqueduct is still in use but the rest of the infrastructure in this picture has now gone, as have the other power station sidings on the north side of the canal embankment. Lancaster itself, Andrew Barclay 1572 of 1917, later worked for a time at Heysham Nuclear Power Station but is now in store unrestored at WCRC Steamtown Carnforth. See image 49994
